What Causes Neck Pain When Sneezing And Bending?

I have head pressure in the back of my head and every few minutes it feels as though a vessel in my nostril is expanding and contracting causing a mild but sharp and unpleasant pain in the back of my head. I have also had mild neck pain triggered by stressing the neck for example when sneezing and bending for the last few days. I suffer from hay fever. Last night I had a night of heavy drinking and did not sleep too much today. What could be the problem. I am 182 cm tall and 23 years old and weigh 73 kilos.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum

After going through the query, I do presume, you could be suffering from sinusitis. As you are already having hay fever, the congested mucosa over the opening of the sinuses would have got blocked, thus giving rise to pressure sensation in the head.

My sincere suggestion to you is to do steam inhalation 3-4 times a day, drink lots of warm water, use saline nasal spray to relieve the nasal block and OTC pain relievers. Avoid coffee, chilled food/beverages and smoking.

If the symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Regards
