Hi,

Is there loose stools or frequent stools too? Loose stools containing mucus might suggest acute gastro-enterits needing antibiotics. But this will be usually associated with some fever, nausea or abdominal pain. If no such symptoms,we need not worry now, and let us wait for 3-5 days to see whether this will clear its own.

Antibiotics can cause alteration in bowel microbiome (even though this started before, this might have added to the problem). If not getting better in 3 days kindly discuss with your pediatrician. Here, a course of Zinc and probiotics might help.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
