What Causes Loss Of Taste During Strep Throat Infection?

I had strep throat, thereafter I had swollen glands where I could even swallow my spit. I lost my voice, but now its better. I had to get the flu shot my doctor order. I thought getting the flu shot prevents you from having the flu I didn t know the virus was the shot or I would have decline of getting the shot. I was in perfect health Oct. 2011, until i got the flu shot then all hell broke lose I was very, very sick. Blood presure was very high 209/110, sugar was high 165, fevers, chills, sore arm, body aches all over. Now I lost my taste buds and smell going on three weeks and its driving me crazy. I am not sure whether I should continue to eat or what. Please help!!! What do I need to do? I miss tasting and smelling. I still have coughs and blowing my nose every chance i get.
