What Causes Itchy Facial Skin With Brown Spots?

My facial skin has become irritated/itchy and also what causes the brown blotches/spots on my face? I have always taken good care of my skin and don t show as many wrinkles as other women my age. I m 55 and also have slight menopausal symptoms.....I ve heard of Amberen, which helps to lose the belly fat as well as diminish the symptoms. I feel like a mess at times. Thank you for any words of advice..... Tina from California

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM
The condition you have described seems most likely to be pityriasis versicolor, a superficial skin infection caused by a fungus.
I would recommend you 2 single dose of oral fluconazole 400mg with a gap of 15 days.
Apply ketoconazole cream twice a day.
Use shampoo containing ketoconazole and selenium sulfite for rinsing daily.
Maintain hygiene.
Hope you will get fine soon
Thank you
