What Causes Indigestion And Discomfort In Abdomen?

Good evening, I had five days in hospital with intravenous mythyl prednisolone. I suffered sickness whilst there followed by chronic indigestion. I was being treated having been diagnosed with MS. That was early March and I am still suffering from indigestion, extreme bloatedness and discomfort in abdomen. Could these still be related to the drug? Judy Westcott

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of having taken 5 days course of intravenous Methyl Prednisolone in hospital, suffered sickness followed by chronic indigestion, extreme bloating and discomfort in abdomen. This was in early March and you are still suffering, wants to know whether this be still related to the drug.
As per the history you have provided, this looks to be purely intestinal issues although might have been instigated by the treatment that you had taken in past.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Ultrasonography of the abdomen to see if there is any gall bladder related problem.
Tests of stool for three consecutive days.
Tests of blood for CBC, liver function.
Clinical evaluation, examination and investigations as advised by your Doctor to get a proper diagnosis and have a proper curative treatment.
You may need a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole, probiotics and activated charcoal tables.
I find this answer helpful
