What Causes Hip Pain?

I have pain in my right hip, which is better after taking ibuprofen. I wonder what was the trigger, yesterday I sported - as always - but the pain started after my first visit to a therapeut in Alexander s techniek, which just showed me how to exercise my upper back!!!!!!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The two possible causes are prolapsed disc and sciatica.

As first-line management, you can take drugs like gabapentin for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI scan.

As of now, avoid strenuous physical activities and weight lifting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
