What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After An Abortion?

Hi I had an abortion april 6th I was 6 weeks pregnant. The day after I felt flu like symtoms.and a red rash occured 3 days later.They told me nothing was wrong. Went back to the clinic for follow up still not feeling well again they said nothing was wrong. I had extremly heavy bleeding on May 6th that was bright red and lasted 7 days now its still there but slowed down. I still feel fluish with no fever? What should i do?

Understand your concern
You should concern the gynecologist for diagnosis of your problem. Heavy bleeding till one months after the abortion is serious. Following are the causes of your problems: Mostly i thinks its look like infections.
1. Retain products: sometime some part of pregnancy remain in the uterus after abrtion process. It will diagnose by USG scan . Treatments is extra dose of misoprostol plus surgical process like suction evacuation D & C.
2. Vaginal infections: retain products cause high chance of infections that produce flue like symptoms and rashes. It will diagnose by vaginal examination and swab test. Treatment is antibiotics course.
3. Molar pregnancy: Sometime placental cell convert in to cancerous cell and lead to choriocarcinoma that bleed continuously. Treatment is surgerya and chemotherapy
4. Ectopic pregnancy: It fails to abort and bleeding may occur. Diagnose by USG and treatment is surgery and blood transfusion.
Consult the gynecologist as early as possible for treatment.
