What Causes Heavy Bleeding With Clots On The 10th Day Of Contraceptive Pills?

this is my first month on minastrin 24 fe 1/20 and I just finished the first pack. On the 11-13th day of the pill I had a heavy breakthrough bleed which looked like it contained tissue/clots and ranged in color from red to brown to black. On my placebo pills I had a dark brown thick stringy discharge which also resembled tissue/clots. There was also some light bleeding which was light pink to bright red but it was so light it would be considered spotting. This lasted 2.5 to 3 days. Was this my period? I had very heavy periods before the pill that lasted 5 days. Is all this normal?

Hello,

The heavy breakthrough bleeding that you are having is a side effect of these pills. This will gradually stop on its own in few days. Continue with the pills and you can start with Pause MF to help with the bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
