What Causes Headache?

I would like to know why I continue to have some sort of headache each day, when I am already taking 50 mg of Topamax 2 x per day to prevent headaches. Most of the time my head hurts from the base of my neck over the occipital area to parietal area that even at times running my hand through my hair hurts. Is there something specific that I need to tell my doctor to look for or go see a headache specialist? Could I have even a cervical spine vertebrae problem?

Hi thanks for asking question.

Do you smoke?? Do you have hypertension?? If yes then increasing headache could be because of it.

Noted you are taking prophylactic treatment for headache.

Still your condition worsening.I would like to suggest CT or MRI scan to investigate further as it doesn't seem typical migraine like condition.

Meanwhile avoid triggering factors for headache like....
-smoke
-stress
-skipped meal
-lack of sleep
-hypoglycemia
- alcohol etc.

Lavender oil inhalation or topical application could be good herbal remedy

Yoga and meditation also useful.

Wish you good health.

Take care.
