What Causes Hair Loss?

I had the implant put in this May and have noticed hair loss within the last few weeks. It has thinned noticeably and I'm not sure if these two things could be related? If my hair loss is due to the Implanon, will the shedding slow down as my body adjusts to the hormones? Or will I continue to lose hair?

Hi,

You seem to have telogen effluvium. There may be some cause. Your dermatologist might investigate to find out the cause of hair fall. Anaemia, thyroid dysfunction, vitamin deficiencies, internal diseases, stress, malnutrition..etc may be considered. Directly implant does not affect hair cycle. Probably stress related with implantation would have affected.

I would suggest...

- biotin 10 mg daily for long time
- vitamins and minerals ..if needed
- treatment of the cause
- herbal shampoo alternate days
- you may apply mild steroid lotion daily at night.... Along with herbal hair oil

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
