What Causes Grey Colored Bowel Movement?

I am a 36 year old female and weigh about 135lbs. I woke up five days ago vomiting and very sick. I did not have any diarrhea. My doctor called in suppositories to help with the nausea. I have used them but I am still very nauseous. Also, this morning I had my first bowel movement since getting sick. My bowel movement was solid but gray in color. Is this normal?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
The color of the stool depend upon many factors.
Grey color could have been due to the foods you ate in last few days, constipation allowing bacterial actions causing change in stool color.
Can be obstructive jaundice as there is no bile to be mixed with food that gives typical color to the stool and your nausea has not stopped.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Send the sttol for tests, particularly for stercobilinogen.
Blood for CBC, liver and kidney function tests.
Urine for bile salts and pigments.
Clinical evaluation by your Doctor, correlation with tests for final diagnosis and management.
