What Causes Fluttering Feeling In Abdomen?

I am having a fluttering, pulsating feeling in my left upper to mid abdomen. It feels like a bruit when palpated. The fluttering comes and goes. Today it has happened about 15 times and lasts for just a few minutes. There is no pain other than just the aggravating fluttering, what could be causing this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Respected user, hi I evaluated your qeury thoroughly .
* Aortic pulse is easily felt when lying down. Location lies near midline
between lower edge of ribs & umbilicus vertically
* Put finger on each side of pulse with tips 3 cm apart ( as normally aorta
is 2 cm wide ) . Wider pulse is possibility of concern & require visit to
consultant for evaluation .
* Thin , lean person this feeling is normal physiologically , in other cases
there are possibilities of Aortic Aneurysm also .
Hope this clears your query .
