Hello Doctor, the question i am asking is on behalf of my Fiancé, she is currently unavailable to ask herself, as she is a teacher and in session right now. My Fiancé is currently taking an oral contraceptive by the name of Previfem she has been taking birth control pills for eight years straight. Today she took her second pill of the third week, but this morning she experienced flow like blood excreting from her vagina and some menstrual like cramps. she has not missed a pill, nor has she taken a single pill at a different time of day. she takes the pill at the same time very morning. these symptoms would make sense if she was out of routine or missed a pill but she hasn t, and that is what has me concerned. We did have sexual intercourse last night, and sometimes she experiences micro tears but it wasn t like that. she explained to me that the blood was fresh and flowing this morning. I am concerned and don t know what we should do. Her body runs like a clock, she has her period approx. 2-3 days into the placebos. any information and/or advice is greatly appreciated.
