What Causes Elevated Pulse Rate?

Hello Sir, I have pulse rate mostly around 98 - 110 per minute, BP is normal. Get Chest pain and tiredness when pulse rate in the above range. I have one ectopic kidney. Heart is normal according to my Physician. What could be the reason for this high pulse rate? Thanks

Hi,

I would explain that it is important performing some further tests to investigate for other possible causes of tachycardia:
- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.

Low dose of betablockers may be helpful, in case all the above tests result normal.
