Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Sir, I have pulse rate mostly around 98 - 110 per minute, BP is normal. Get Chest pain and tiredness when pulse rate in the above range. I have one ectopic kidney. Heart is normal according to my Physician. What could be the reason for this high pulse rate? Thanks
I would explain that it is important performing some further tests to investigate for other possible causes of tachycardia:
- complete blood count for anemia
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance.
Low dose of betablockers may be helpful, in case all the above tests result normal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
