What Causes Delayed Periods With Negative Pregnancy Test When On Microgest/huc Injection?

hi doctor i had iui on 11th oct and my last month period date was 25 oct, now I have missed my period by 10 days but pregnecy test is negitive. I am taking the microgest and huc 5000mg injection every week. i am very confused why i am not getting pregnent. please advice me.

Hi,

According to the literature the success rate of IUI is around 10 to 20%. According to the your history the possibilities are:
** If the IUI was successful the urine pregnancy test might have showed positive result by this time.
** If you want to get clarification, please go for blood test for pregnancy, which can give more accurate results compared with urine test.
** If the serum beta HCG levels are more than 25 mIU/mL, it confirms the pregnancy.
** If the test gives negative result, the possibility is that as you are taking the progesterone tablets because of that you were not getting the periods as the progesterone will protect the endometrium from getting shed.

So, please consult your doctor and undergo a blood test for pregnancy, if it gives a negative result, you may need to stop the progesterone, so that you will get the withdrawal bleeding.
