What Causes Clustered Bumps And Red Rashes On The Arm?
I had a small bump on my arm yesterday I thought may have been a bug bite right after metal detecting outside. Now it has been about 24 hours since then, and There is now a rash of red bumps clustered around it roughly around 2 inches by about 3 and a half inches and its on inside of my forearm. There is a dark spot in the middle of the rash that looks almost black and is in the shape of like an X. I have had poisen ivy many times and this seems to be nothing like it whatsoever, the black x in the middle if i look real close it is sunk in just a little.
Hello, Thank you for posting on HCM. As per your description, it seems you got an insect bite, which has lead to local inflammation and rash. The treatment is pretty simple but yet proper examination by a dermatologist is a must to rule out other conditions and for proper management . If i were your dermatologist, i would prescribe you some oral antibiotics and antihistaminics. Painkillers/analgesics might be required for severe condition. Also, apply a cream containing Betamethasone in combination with fusidic acid twice a day gently over affected areas. Avoid pricking/scratching of lesions as it may lead to secondary infection. Hope this will take care of your query. Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
