What Causes Black Tongue And And Lump On Either Side Of Throat?

For three days I have had a very sore throat, have no appetite, trouble sleeping because every time I swallow is painful, and have a lump on either side of my throat. I have been taking amoxicillin and some pain relief medicine, also drinkin an inane amount of water. This morning my tongue was black and still as painful as before regardless of medication. What is your suggestion? I am in china so medicine here seems little weak.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have infection in throat which can be bacterial or viral in nature and the swollen glands under the tongue can be due to swollen lymph nodes under the jaw and can be due to infection..
The black coating over tongue can be due to Black Hairy tongue due to overgrowth of bacteria or fungus, accumulation of debris and food particles and can be staining due to particles of medicines..
You should continue taking the medicines that you are taking and along with it do warm saline gargles, steam inhalations and chew a vitamin c pellet daily..
Clean the tongue using a tongue scraper, gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water and also you can dip an ultrasoft toothbrush in this solution and clean your tongue with it..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
