What Causes Abnormal Bleeding After A Hysteroscopy?

yes. lets see! Six months after having a hysteroscopy; where a polyp was removed, the abnormal bleeding has returned. Although its not have heavy. Is it possible for the polyp to return? Is there a procedure that will remove them permanently? and is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

Hello,
Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. If endometrial ablation was not done during the procedure and a simple polypectomy was done, it is possible for the polyp to recur if the causative factor/factors were not addressed. I would also like to know if the removed polyp was sent for biopsy and what was reported. Firstly, the cause of this bleeding should be detected through clinical evaluation and a sonogram. Hormone assay also may be required. Further management depends on the diagnosis. If it a benign polyp recurrence, hormone suppression may be needed along with polypectomy. Endometrial ablation can be considered for permanent cure. Hope this helps.
