What Causes Abdominal Pain With Constipation?

My daddy has abdominal pain for 3 days and occasionally has vomitting of black substance. His doctor prescribed only senokot and simeco for indigestion since he is also constipated. Also, his stomach has become big. What would be the causes of his pain?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

The causes of constipation, abdominal distension, vomiting black colored substance is suggestive of the following::
-Intestinal obstruction of whatsoever cause.
-Fecal impaction.
-Uremia.

I would advise you the following::
Take your father to ER / Hospital.
Get an X-ray of the abdomen in the standing position.
Blood for CBC, urea, creatinine , liver function tests, sugar, electrolytes.
Urine : routine.

There is a possibility of a mass / Cancer ; this has to be ruled by a colonoscpy after a preparation.
