What Causes A Lump In Left Side Of The Abdomen?

This is lauren. I'm 15 years old and I have a knot on my lower left side of my abdomen. It moves when I turn on my side and I can move it with my hand. It feels as if it is twisting. My gynocologist said it was a muscle but Is causes some pain and I disagree that its a muscle. I'm afraid its something bad but I didn't want to alarm anyone until I found advice. Please help me.

Hello,

A lump in left lower quadrant may be due to:
1. Simple lipoma
2. Early inguinal hernia
3. Bowel obstruction leads to colon prominent
4. Left ovarian cyst
5. Infection et cetera

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Get scan abdomen done then you come to know the cause for it. Please consult your doctor, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
