Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain loss of sense of taste and smell along with congestion or blocked feeling with a history of Sinusitis seems to be due to recurrence of infection in the sinuses and as the sinuses gets congested due to inflammation and accumulation of inflammatory fluid there is a loss of smell and taste as both these senses are inter-related..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and also advise you investigations like NS view x ray of sinuses to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly..

In case if infection is ruled out he can advise you another course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Levofloxacin or Doxycycline, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Motrin, decongestants like Phenylephrine, saline nasal irrigations, decongestants nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline, steam inhalations and steroid nasal sprays to reduce inflammation..
Use of humidifier in your room can help..
Avoid air conditioned atmosphere and chilled foods..
Do warm compresses around nose..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
