What Causes A Bump With Pus Inside?

I had basal cell skin cancer two years ago on my forehead. It was removed through Mohs surgery. One week ago today a bump appeared just above the spot of my basal cell and looked like a blood blister. In this week it has become flaky and now appears to have pus inside. What can this be? I have an appointment with the dermatologist on Friday.

Hello,

As per your case history, you are suffering from a Furuncle, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levoFloxacin, Cefadroxil and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
