What Can Cause Maroon Color Stools?

my mom is 85 years old. she was feeling uneasy and full in the stomach for the last 2 hrs. now she vomited and feels much better. but the 2nd tranche of vomit was maroon in color. Is it blood ? After 10 minutes she is also passing stools...which are a little loose but normal in color. she is an ischaemic heart patient and taking blood thinners (as a precaution against stroke). she feels much better now after all this. should i let her be now (night) or take her to a doc right away ?

Hello,

Probably she may be suffering from active peptic ulcer disease. So use tablet Nexium before breakfast at two weeks. Syrup Sucral two teaspoons twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, she may need to stop temporarily blood thinners need an endoscopy. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
