What Are The Tests To Be Conducted To Confirm Breast Cancer?

I'm from Sri Lanka , a mother of 4 aged 39 years old , with my youngest son aged 3 .
I have a lump in my right breast for about 6-7months now , few months ago I had the same lump and i consulted a physician and I went through a scan and the results had been weekly postive and the doctors concluded it as fileria and I was under medication for few months and then the lump disappered and now again after 4 months I've got the same lump in my right breast and this time I had pains and again I consulted a doctor and I was asked to do the FNAC test ( Fine needle aspiration ) biopsy .
The results had shown that there is a suspicion that I'm suffering from BREAST CANCER .
I would like to consult you and confirm wether I've got Breast Cancer . Please let me know as soon as possible as I'm waiting for my Indian Visa , to get my Treatment at Adayar Cancer Hospital .
Thank You ,
Mrz . Shihana Faiz .

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.Steps followed to detect and diagnose and treatment are as follow.
2.As soon as any abnormality noted in the breast like pain, lump, erosive, tenderness - an ultrasound examination of the breast is indicated.
3.The ultrasound will help to evaluate the nature of the lump its source and extensions. After that if the female is post reproductive age - an mammogram will be done to correlate with the ultrasound findings. ( as tiny calcific malignancies are not seen on ultrasound ) Recently MR Breast also been used in investigation process.
4.Once abnormality detected - an FNAC / BIOPSY will be done - depending on the nature of the cells and lesion extension the procedure depends upon.
5.Partial / lump excision to complete mastectomy ( définitive diagnosis for treatment is FNAC / BIOPSY) Good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
