Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
when I lie down I have pain in my ears, face, head, back of neck, it doesn t matter which side I lie on. When sitting up it is not as bad. If I take paracetamol the pain goes away for the rest of the day. I have had it for 3 weeks and am worrying about taking too much paracetamol
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Acetaminophen (paracetamol) is a well known and widely used analgesic. It may have some side effects but the frequency is low. Some of the side effects may be allergic reactions, liver failure, dizziness, gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
In long term use it is more probable to cause hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity, liver failure, leukopenia, agranulocitosis, pancitopenia (decrease in blood cells number). Risk of hepatotoxicity is higher in alcohol users, high dose long term use, or use of more than one acetaminophen-containing product.
I hope I have been of help. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Olsi Taka
