General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Constipation can occur as a side effect of Eldoper. Avoid taking the drug. Lactulose syrup 15 ml can be taken at night. It takes 3 to 4 days for the drug to soften the stools. Maintaining healthy fibre diet and adequate hydration in the following days can avoid constipation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
