What Are The Possible Treatments For Cyst Or Fatty Tissue Under The Skin ?

my husband seems to have what maybe fatty tissue or cyst growing under the skin in various parts of his torso and back. the one on his back is in the spine area and has grown. should we be concerned & what kind of doctor should we seek? A dermatologist or a pcp,

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of lipomas. As the name suggest they are benign fatty tumors.

It is advisable to confirm the diagnosis by Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology from one of the representative lesions.

Treatment is surgical removal of only those lesions which are large and cause discomfort. Others need not be removed.

You can consult either a General Surgeon or a Dermatologist
