Hi, I've had a sore throat for a couple of weeks now. It's slightly red n I have noticed a couple of little cuts or abrasions on the sides near my tonsils! My voice has been husky as a result of it and it does hurt to swallow. For some strange reason though it hurt more on the right hand side when I swallow. I've never had cuts/abrasions in my throat before. Should I be concerned????
Hi, the abrsions you mentioned are simple structures normally exists in tonsills . these are called as Crypts. Major/Minor . When you swallow chewed food, the food debris may get accumulated into these crypts finally causing white hard materials and tonsillitis when associated with exposure to infective focci. Normally the tonsills isze should regress from 16 yrs of age. Persistant tonsills causes repeated infections and affect heart/Joint/kidneys. take care
