What Are Healing Chances Of Fracture At Disc Sites C5,c6 And C7?

2 weeks ago, my 70 year old husband fell, hitting his head and was unconscious. EMT came and discovered his blood sugar to be 23. Went to ED by ambulance and discovered 2 fractures of a calcified anterior longitudinal ligament at disc sites between C-5 and C-6 and C-7. No cervical vertebral displacement found. He is in a neck brace for 12 weeks with frequent intervals to see the spine doctor for active observation. I am interested in information r/t prognosis of healing; if no healing and if there is no healing, what can we expect for safety and what will be his limitations; is there a surgical procedure to replace what the ALL does?
