Vaginal Yellowish Discharge After Periods. History Of Taking Postinor 2 After Unprotected Sex. Side Effects?
hai Doc....i just want to ask....last time i take postinor-2 after unprotected sex within 24hrs. next couple days i having period and it last 6days later..but the prob is...i still experiencing vaginal discharge looks like yellowish in color for more than a weeks already.....is that side effect of that medicine or sign that im pregnant??
Postinor is an emergency contraceptive and its effectiveness is undoubted when taken within the required time period. You did take the postinor within 24 hours which is within the time period required to prevent pregnancy. So it is less likely you could be pregnant.
Yellow discharge is a common symptom of bacterial infection of the genital tract and unprotected intercourse is a risk factor of such infections. However, it could be simple a yeast infection which is favored by use of hormonal contraceptive.
It will be better to meet a doctor and for at least a vaginal swap to be done which will be used for tests. In case of bacterial infection, antibiotics shall be prescribed to you and in the case of yeast infection drugs such as fluconazole, clotrimazole, or nystatine etc shall be prescribed.
