Urinalysis Done During Pregnancy. Few RBC, Pus Cells Found. What Does The Report Mean?
Hi doctor my name is Lhee and I'm 5 months pregnant. My urine test result indicated: transparency - sl. turbid albumin - trace sugar - negative reaction - acidic (6.0) specific gravity - 1.10 epithelial cells - moderate bacteria - few pus cells - 18-20 hpf RBC - 2-3 hpf
Your urine report suggests that you are suffering form urinary tract infection. 1.Transparency of urine is turbid due to presence of pus cell,RBC etc. 2.Normally urine doesn't contain pus cells and RBC. Presence of pus cells and RBC indicate towards infection. This is also supported by presence of epithelial cells. Urinary tract infection is common during pregnancy. You have to take antibiotics.Culture and sensitivity of urine should also be done.
