Upper Breasts, Thighs Itchy, Rashes On Body. Solution For The Problem?

hi dr. my upper breasts and my thighs are all itchy. It all started when I came back from my trip in Europe. But while being there, I got sick too, for about 4 days and I had these rashes all over my body. But anyway, that isn t the issue. I m actually from the Philippines and this is the first time that I have experienced this. When I try to scratch, tiny red marks immediately shows up. There was one time that I didn t notice the red marks and I keep scratching until I wounded myself. Maybe my nails are too long but still, I ve been having these itches for about a month now.

Hello.

Thanks for posting your query.

Itching can be due to either internal or external causes.

Internal causes like:-1. diabetes2. Anaemia I.e.. Low haemoglobin levels3. Thyroid disorders4. Kidney disorders5. Liver disorders etc.External causes are where you can see a rash.In your case since there its no rash its more likely that there its an internal cause. Also in case you have lot of dryness on the skin that could be another cause.I would recommend:-1. Ask your doctor to rule out the above mentioned conditions by asking for basic blood tests like complete blood count, blood sugar, thyroid levels, liver function tests and kidney function tests.2. Take tab.allegra 180 mg once daily to control the itching.is available over the counter. 3. Application of cortisone lotion once a day on the areas that are itching.its available over the counter. Please let me know all your queries.
