Unprotected Sex With My Boyfriend. Irritation, Watery White Discharge. Used Yeast Infection Cream. No Relief. Suggestions?

Ive had unprotected sex about 2months ago with my boyfriend. This doesn't happen often but we do not faithfully use protection. That was the last time we had unprotected sex. 3 in a half weeks ago we used protection. I am female that probably masturbates more than I have sex. Recently, Ive notice vaginal discharge. I notice this about 2weeks ago and slight irritation I immediately thought it was a yeast infection and treated it as such by purchasing cream. Its doesn't smell and is white and thin like water. The yeast infection cream did NOT work. I have a routine pap-smear scheduled for next week but wanted to know if dis was something I need to rush to the emergency room for. It doesn't burn but it hasn't stopped leaking. I have to wear panty liners to keep from ruining my panties. Any ideas on what dis could be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Above features are mostly associated with vaginal yeast infection. STD may be co-exist with it.

Here, one vaginal swab test is required to confirm the diagnosis. Complete STD panel is also to be done.

Take proper antibiotic medicine along with vaginal suppository at bed time for 5 to 7 days. Please consult with your doctor.

Maintain genital hygiene and practice protected safe sex. Good luck.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. S Patra
