Ultrasound Shows Irregular Uterine Lining With Multiple Hypoechoic Lesions, Irregular Endometrium, Unremarkable Ovaries. Explain

Hi. I just had an ultrasound and the result states: the uterine outline is irregular with multiple hypoechoic lesions. The largest measures 48 by 42mm. The endometrium is irregular. Both ovaries are not remarkable. No free POD fluid collection noted. No hydronephrosis seen. Please what does this mean? Thanks for your help

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

Assuming that the ultrasound was done because you were having abnormal bleeding or pain, these represent uterine polyps or uterine fibroids. They can further be discerned with a 'sonohysterogram' or a procedure called a hysteroscopy.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
