Ultrasound Shows Anteverted Uterus With Homogenous Echopattern. Gallbladder Polyps Versus Encrusted Stones. Explain

I just had my ultrasound and the result of that states that my anteverted uterus measures 6.31x5.87x3.58cm with homogenous echopattern.

The overall impression of my ultrasound :

Gallbladder polyps versus encrusted stones.
unremarkable sonogram of the liver, spleen, imaged pnacreas, abdominal aorta and paaortic areas, kidneys, urinary bladder.

My question is what does gallbladder polyps versus encrusted stone? do I have a stone?
Need your response.

Thank you.

Hello MVB,
Thanks for writing in.
1. Uterus is perfectly normal going by measurements and what you have mentioned.
2. Gall bladder polyps versus encrusted stone: This means that the doctor who did your scan feels that there is a polyp or stone embedded within the wall of your gall bladder. In this context it is important to know the number of suspected polyps/ encrusted stones and their size.

Finally it is important to know why you went for ultrasound scan and if your liver function tests are normal.

With this information please have a detailed consultation with a surgeon and take a second opinion from another surgeon if you feel like. Generally a small single stone is left alone and some stones also respond to medication.

In the end it is your surgeon who will guide you regarding treatment options available depending on your clinical complaints (pain, indigestion).
Hope this helps.
