Trying To Conceive Since A Year, USG Normal, Get Periods Regularly. History Of Elevated Male Hormones. Probable Causes?

I have been trying to conceive since more than a year now. I have a daughter of age 6 years and get regular periods on time every month. My ultra Sonogram report shows everything normal. I also had imbalance in my hormone levels at the age of 25. My male hormones were slightly elevated than the normal levels. Could you use a little direction here. Thanks Tanushree Banerjee

Hi Tanushree.

The reason for hormonal imbalance with higher male hormone is mostly due to polycystic ovarian disease( in your case given the history of prior delivery of normal child). This also comes in a way of conception since you are trying for months now. Get your TSH, LH, FSH, Prolactin and Testosterone tests done from an NABL certified lab and get back to me with latest report of your ultrasound pelvis also. I can guide you further over this.
Meanwhile try to lose weight if you are overweight and start on folic acid supplement as you are trying for conception. Take care.

are you obese,having irregular menstrual period,unwanted hair growth at chin & above upper lip.
2ndary infertility along with these features with elevated male hormone are the features of PCOS.
though elevated male hormone is also found in ovarian and adrenal tumor.
consult a infertility specialist.
