Took Prostrate Citre For Bladder Stone, Has Diarrhea, Worsening Even After Stopping Medication. Any Suggestions ?

my husband is 72 year old. He has been having diaharria for some time now. He took medication called prostrate citre for a bladder stone - it got worse... went off the ptostrate citre and still has diaharria. Was drinking Diet Brisk tea quite a bit wondering if this is adding to it. His dr. also put him on a antibiotic , then after that a probiotic.. He also has been taking medimucil and Imodium..... any suggestions.

This medicine is used to alkalize an urine. It is usually well tolerable, however as every medicine can cause gastrointestinal issues.
However it is possible that your husbands symptoms are caused by some unrelated to this medicine intake issue. At your husband age, it is very important to rule out colon cancer in case of such symptoms. Other possible reasons are pancreatitis, bacterial infection, inflammatory bowels disease, hyperthyroid.

I suggest your husband to consult gastroenterologist, have stool tests and colonoscopy done.
