Thick White Mucus In Throat, Swollen Lymph Nodes, Nasal Congestion. Treatment For Post Nasal Drip?

I have a white thick mucous dripping down my throat . I visited my primary care doctor who said i had a sinus infection back in october. I went back in Nov with the same problem hes already given me two rounds of antibiotics. My lymph nodes have been swollen for 1.5 months and every morning i wake up my nose is stuffy. I recently visited an ENT he said everything looks fine. But im still having post nsal drip and everything else ive stated earlier.

Dear Concerned.,

Thanks for writing to us.

The symptoms described by you points towards the probabality of Chronic sinusitis even though other triggering factors such as repeated exposures to "house dust mite"/microbes/pollens /vasomotor factors such as sudden dip in temperature to more than 10 Degree celsius do produce the above mentioned symptoms.

The swollen lymph nodes definitely point towards infection if they are firm to hard in consistancy. If they are stony hard to palpate then they indicate malignancy.

Investigations;-Pls do routine blood count/blood chemistry/urinalysis/PNS X Ray/CXR-PA view/Sputum for routine/micro/Culture and Sensitivity /AFB/Exfoliative Cytology.

With all the reports do consult the specialist -ENT Surgeon for definitive treatment.

For the time being continue the empirical therapy described by your doctor including Steam Inhalation/Expectorants/antibiotics etc.

Prevention;By keeping away from dust/infected persons/pollens/wearing a mask while driving/abstain from smoking.

Wishing you a Speedy Recovery,

Best Regards.,
