Tender Spot On Roof Of Mouth. No Relief With Penicillin. Reason And Cure?
I have a spot on the roof of my mouth that is very tender to touch. It does not appear red or swollen, but it has been there for a couple of weeks. I saw a dentist and he did not seem to think it was related to the tooth . He did x-rays. He did eventually prescribe penicillin , but it has not improved (at least not much, if any). I am a 57 year old female with no other medical conditions and take no other meds.
Hello,
Thanks for writing in.
The tender spot may be developed from the periodontal infection associated.
I would suggest you to get your teeth cleaned and root planning done.
If there is bone loss, bone grafting has to be done.
Curettage has to be done to drain the pus if present.
Always maintain good oral hygiene.
Use soft interdental toothbrush and dental floss to clean your teeth.
Take care
