Taking Metoprolol After Mitral Valve Repair. Have Skipping Heartbeats. Reason?

My heart has been fine for the last 2 years after mitral valve repair and I been taking Metropolol tart 50 mg daily to the point that after 1 year start lowering to just 1/2 of 25 mg tablet. But during the last 4 days my heart seems to require a least 25 mg since I feel that I skip heart beats from time to tme. What is the case of this change?
