Swollen Lymph Nodes With Lump, Can These Two Be Related ?
I am a 20 yr old female, w/ a fam history of nonhodgkins lymphoma . 9mo agoi got swollen lymphndes in my neck. Later I found a few along my colar bone I was not sick and had blood tests twice each about 4 mo apart the blood work came back good. The doctors trid antibiotics and steroids to try and reduce swelling. At 7mo I went to a surgeon who found nothing of concern, he did not perform a biopsy. Recently I found a lump about 1/2 in below my ear just away from my jaw. I don t know for certain if its a lymphnode. It is hard and fixed feels llike a rock or bone even. I m wondering if the doctors missed something and if I should look into this new lump. For the most part doctors have gone off old tests and touch and feel. The mainconcern was a different lymphnode. Can one differ from another?
There is a problem with that, it took me 6.5 mo persistantly irritating my doc and getting an off base refer to get the first referal to the surgeon. I'm active duty military so I'm kinda left at my doctors whims. If they tell your fine "go back to work and hydrate" that's what i v got to do. Are there anyother options for some one in my postion? Cause right now my doc doesn't seem concerned and short of the swelling to the size of golf balls I don't think her opinion is going to change. Also I have GAD I don't think excessive worry is helping me at all.

Hi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic Forum If the blood reports are normal, I would recommend you to go for a Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy to look for the pathology. Regards Dr. Naveen Kumar
