Swollen Face, Dry Cheeks After Taking Melatonin. Any Long Term Damage?

I recently took 10 mg of Melatonin. It did not help me to sleep. Instead, it kept me a wake. When I got out of bed in the morning, my face was swollen. I did not go to the doctor. The swelling went down after taking an anti-histamine. Is there any long term damage to my face? My cheeks are very dry and I have used a facial scrub to try and remove the dry skin. Please help!
Thank you,
Yvonne

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, for dry face, after the tablets melatonin, or otherwise, is to give the skin a good nourishment.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts and oroteine rich foods.
I to my patient with such condition prescribes vitamins, A, B, E, and vitamin C. Thank you. Advise you to stop strong soaps, and use mild soaps, and moisturising soaps. Thank you.
