Suggest Treatment For Dry Knuckles

My son, age 14, has extremely dry skin on his knuckles. They crack and bleed besides the dry skin. Also his hands get extremely cold even when inside. Wondering if I should take him to a dermatologist for treatment. Thank you, Mary Beth YYYY@YYYY

Hi,

The climate is very cold and your son is experiencing dry skin and cracks. I would you to apply a moisturiser in the morning immediately within 5 minutes after bath and also in the evenings. After bath pat the skin with a towel rather than wiping the skin dry and apply the moisturiser.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aisvareea, Dermatologist
