Is Prolonged Melatonin Intake Dangerous?

I am 67. In the last 2 months or so, I have experienced many teeth problems. 2 pulled, 1 root canal, and now another tooth is hurting, and swollen above! I have taken Melatonin 3 mg... for the last 3 years because I could not sleep well, I now see that Melatonin is only supposed to be taken SHORT TERM! Is Melatonin dangerous? Can one take it long term, like 3 years? I also take at night, with the Melatonin, 250 mg Magneseum, and sometimes an Aleve pm. 2 tablets. In the morning I take a one-day vitamin, or a Geritol, alternated, 2 garlic, 20 mg Quinipril, generic for Aquilpril, 5000 mg D-3. I excercise every other day, and eat 3 good meals and am in good health for 67! Why are my teeth caving in on me in a matter of 2 months? Is it the Melatonin? Or Menopausal?

Hello
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service
I have reviewed your query, and here is my advice
If the teeth are not in healthy condition then it is better to extract them all then you can think about the teeth implantation else it can not be treated with any medicine it may not give permanent cure, unless it is the infection, else you have to see the orhtodentist for further advise, but had teeth condition in this age not advisable to take any medicine or go for repair procedure
Hope I have answered your query, let me know if I can assist you further.
