Hello, Thanks for writing to us I have read your query in detail. The symptoms you have described are more likely to be symptoms of muscles strain or tear. I advice you to follow the below mentioned guidelines - * Give adequate rest to the involved muscle group and avoid any movement that causes pain * Ice packing once in every 2 hours over the affected area * Local application of muscle relaxant gel * Analgesic medications as needed If the above measures fail to provide symptom relief, consult an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation and management.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
It's always advisable to have an orthopedic surgeon's opinion before attending your work so that he can assess the amount of injury to the quad muscle and advice you accordingly.
The immediate treatment of a suspected quad tear is RICE regime (Rest, ICe packing, Elastic compression bandage and Elevation of the leg). An anti-inflammatory can be helpful to reduce pain and inflammation.
Rest for at least 72 hours before commencing light training. If there is no pain then training can continue gradually. Pay attention to signs of pain or increased tenderness, and reduce exercise if any develops. Proper stretching of the quadriceps is essential. Stretch gently, but thoroughly. Never force a stretch. A return to activity within two or three weeks is expected.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
