Suggest Ways Of Reducing High Cholesterol Levels

Hi i am a 30 yr old female and have been diagonsed with high cholestrol levels last month. total cholestrol is 255 hdl 59 ldl 180 trig 77. i am also on hypothyroid supplement. I wanted to know how can i reduce my cholestrol levels especialy the ldl levels naturally n how long does it take to get it reduced without medication. Since 15 days i have started going to the gym and am following a healthy diet.

Dear Ms,

In your age medications for cholesterol is not a good option, and the best way to reduce cholesterol level is healthy lifestyle.
First of all you should have normal thyroid function. You noticed that you take some supplements for it, so check thyroid function.
If you are overweight you should lose weight. For healthy diet and weight lose, I would advise;
1. Eat frequently with small portions, chew slowly
2. avoid fast food, soda
3. don't eat sweets and fruits after 5pm
4. don't drink liquids with meel
5. restrict animal fat
6. eat more fish

It is good you started to go to gym, you should exercise regularly.
And I will tell you a secret; in your age if you have normal weight and healthy lifestyle, and even if your cholesterol don't return to narmal value, it cannnot harm you.
