Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My brother has been detected with Hep A and is admitted to Manipal Hospital, Bangalore. His bilirubin count is not coming down and is at 30 and he is getting scratch all over his body. MRCP was done and everythg is normal. Docs are a bit confused and have suggested endoscopy.
Hello, Can you please tell when did he acquire the infection( when did he get it), because it takes time for the virus to come down, initially It will go up and later it will stay in that phase and then comes down, some people may also develop itching , but if MRCP is normal, nothing to worry, please follow your doctors advise, keep repeating Liver function tests every week, if they are in a down trend than nothing to be worried, otherwise he has to be evaluated for other causes of hepatitis also. Hope I could help you. Thank you.
