Hello!

I am a 45 year old male ,diabetic with my current fasting blood sugar at 185.I have recently developed rashes and sores on my penis.I got "QUADRIDERM" antifungal cream from the pharmacy which gave me relief initially, but the sores and rashes have now come back though I continue to use this cream.Infact, the rashes increase when I have an alcoholic drink. Please advice alternative medication.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query.
You

Based on the symptoms I would state that you have developed Muco Cutaneous Genital Candidiasis which is very common in persons with uncontrolled diabetes.

Consult qualified Diabetologis for necessary treatment of diabetes and monitor your sugar levels frequently. Please ensure that your diabetes is under control.

Take anti fungal medications like Fluconazole twice daily and topical anti fungal ointment or cream like Candid cream for local application.

Ensure to wash your genotals with warm water twice daily .
