I'm a 18 year old female who has a history of uterine cysts. Me and my boyfriend re sexually active but for the past 2 months when ever we try to have intercourse I find that its painful and I'm not aroused at all. I have gone to get ultrasounds more then once for the cysts and my old doctor told me that my problem is do to the cysts bursting. I would believe that if it wasn't every time for the past 2 months however. I am a Hep.B carrier but not active since i was 4 (adopted from Russia).
Painful sexual intercourse is commonly due to anxiety, depression, stress, vaginismus, vaginal dryness, injury in the genitals, skin disorders, infection and irritation, etc. Ovarian cysts, PID, cystitis, IBS, etc can also cause similar symptoms. Application of topical estrogen in the vagina is effective. You can also use water based vaginal lubricants. Desensitization therapy will help to relax vaginal muscles and decrease pain during intercourse.
Kegel exercises are useful to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. Engage in longer foreplay to encourage secretion of the body’s natural lubricants. Choose comfortable sexual positions to minimize deep pain. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist and get investigations done so that pathology causing you discomfort can be detected you can be treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
