Suggest Treatment For Painful And Swollen Throat Glands

I am an 18 yr old female. 5 3 and 115 lbs. I just was diagnosed with a sinus infection, bad seasonal allergies, and a virus. Curently the glands in my throat are very swollen and painful (but only on the outside). Will putting ice on my throat help relieve the swelling? My face and eyes are also very swollen and puffy. I just took my first dose of antibiotics. Thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a pharyngitis.
Consult a general practitioner and start antibiotics preferably amoxclav. Do warm saline gargles also.
If symptoms persist you might require a throat swab.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
